The certified professionals in your life have invested in something called CRM that means Client Relationship. Every time you have a conversation with one of them--anyone on the team who is serving your insurance needs, your internet or cellular plan, your financial plan, your legal needs, your medical tests, any contact with the government--basically anyone--they are entering data into their system. While this is ostensibly to better serve you, the data serves a dual purpose of documentation and data collection for future use. If you later have a concern or a complaint, these notes will be downloaded and reviewed, together with any telephone call recordings which will be on file. You will not have access to any of the information collected unless you go through a cumbersome data request under PIPEDA (our federal legislation governing privacy) or our provincial legislation (PIPPA). One thing you can be sure of is that in the event of any discrepancy or need for escalation, you will be at a disadvantage if you have not also collected your data notes from every communication.

Since Paper Tiger is committed to de-escalation before it is needed to prevent costly conflict, arbitration or legal disputes, it all begins with proper planning for these calls and effective documentation and data management (post communication follow up organization, filing, protected access). These are vital skills needed for the current day, and with a few coaching sessions, you will be well on your way to increased confidence and to ensuring that professionals deal with your file with increased care.
